Our Evidence-Based Warm-Up

We utilize the scientifically backed R.A.M.P. framework to prepare our athletes for maximum performance while drastically reducing injury risks:

  • Raise: Elevate core body temperature, heart rate, and blood flow.

  • Activate: Engage key muscle groups required for explosive sprinting.

  • Mobilize: Focus on active joint range of motion (dynamic stretching).

  • Potentiate: Prime the central nervous system for high-velocity output.

Plyos, Ballistics & Bounds

At APEX, we incorporate session-specific plyometrics, bounding, and ballistic movements designed to bridge the gap between absolute strength and track speed.

We systematically target:

  • The Stretch-Shortening Cycle: Training muscles and tendons to store and redirect elastic energy.

  • Rate of Force Development: Priming the central nervous system to recruit muscle fibers instantly for explosive acceleration.

  • Stiffness & Ground Contact Time: Optimizing ankle complex stiffness to minimize time spent on the track, converting raw power into horizontal velocity.

Block and Acceleration mechanics

At Apex, we prioritize explosive, technically sound accelerations. This begins with the correct block settings, ensuring every athlete is structurally aligned to optimize their biomechanics and project themselves at the right angles.  We teach athletes to drive force horizontally into the track rather than stepping upward, maximizing initial acceleration. We also prioritize Low Shin Angles and coach efficient "piston-like" leg drives to aggressively attack the track without cycling and establish an elite drive phase. 

Technology

At Apex, we eliminate the guesswork. We utilize elite, sports-science equipment to track metric data, monitor progression, and ensure our athletes are executing every repetition with absolute precision.

  • Electronic Timing Gates: Removing human error to deliver laser-accurate sprint times down to the thousandth of a second, ensuring precise velocity tracking.

  • Precise Measurements: We use measuring wheels to map out exact distances for workouts and session-specific training drills, allowing us to stay on top of training volume week by week.
